At Malpensa Airport, torn between the excitement of returning to Nepal for the new research, and the concern of the ongoing destruction and suffering caused by Putin in Ukraine. It’s got harder and harder to follow the news. On the train to the airport, various conversations that I overheard were about the war. The person sitting in front of me even stocked food up already and planned where to go if the conflict expanded. But she also argued that Ukraine should surrender and it will be all over, so pretty distorted perception of reality I suppose. These conversations would have been unbelievable just two weeks ago. This criminal war must end.
